PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus that detects illegal access of a DMA master to a memory before the DMA master illegally accesses the memory without increasing involvement of control software.SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus 100 includes data storage means 41 for storing data, and data transfer means 36 arranged in respective peripherals for reading out data from the data storage means, or writing data in the data storage means. The information processing apparatus 100 further includes a CPU 38 that writes, when the data transfer means transfers data from a memory to the peripherals or from the peripherals to the memory, address information of the memory storing the data in the memory, and overlapping determination means 353 for acquiring the address information from the data transfer means and determining whether or not overlapping is present between the acquired address information and another address information from the data transfer means. When receiving input of a transfer permission signal from the overlapping determination means upon determination of absence of overlapping by the overlapping determination means, the data transfer means starts transferring the data.
