Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absolute position measurement device that is provided with a first structure group including a reference scale having at least one code track arranged on a surface, and a scan unit in which a position signal is generated by scanning at least the one code track in a measurement direction and a digital value of an absolute position can be generated from the position signal, and a second structure group including at least one peripheral device unit configured so as to attain an additional or auxiliary function of a position measurement device.SOLUTION: A first structure group 20.1 and a second structure group 20.2 are connected to each other by using a plurality of electrical wirings 21 for transmitting an electric signal. The first structure group 20.1 is composed of components 22, 25, 26 and 41 suitable for use mainly in a radiation area A of a machine.
