Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal olefin sulfonate composition exhibiting good foamability, foam volume, rapidly foaming properties, foam cutting properties, foam quality, retentivity of foam in the presence of sebum, and foam volume in the presence of sebum in high level, and to provide a detergent composition containing the same.SOLUTION: An internal olefin sulfonate composition contains (A) an internal olefin sulfonate having 16 carbon atoms and/or (B) an internal olefin sulfonate having 18 carbon atoms, and the total content of the component (A) and the component (B) is 50 to 100 mass%, the content ratio of the component (A) and the component (B) (A/B) is 91/9 to 100/0, the content of the internal olefin sulfonate having a sulfonate group at 2-position is 25 mass% or less, and the mass ratio of the content of a hydroxy body in the internal olefin sulfonates of the component (A) and the component (B) and the content of an olefin body in the internal olefin sulfonates of the component (A) and the component (B) (hydroxy body/olefin body) is 75/25 to 100/0.
