Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gel composition having improved texture in use, and a cosmetic comprising the same.SOLUTION: A gel composition comprises: an organosiloxane derivative represented by general formula (1); a monohydric aliphatic alcohol having 10 to 30 carbon atoms; and water. The molar ratio of the organosiloxane derivative:the monohydric aliphatic alcohol is in the range of 1:0.1 to 1:30. The amount of water incorporated is in the range of 100 to 10000 pts.mass, with respect to 100 pts.mass of the total amount of the organosiloxane derivative and the monohydric aliphatic alcohol. In a crystal structure of the gel composition, bilayer membranes of the organosiloxane derivative and the monohydric aliphatic alcohol are arranged in a layer form in a long-period structure and the hydrophobic groups of the organosiloxane derivative and the monohydric aliphatic alcohol are arranged in a hexagonal form on the short-plane side. A cosmetic comprises the gel composition.
