PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IC card configured to quickly restore a normal communication state even if communication error occurs during transition from low-speed communication state to high-speed communication state, an IC card processing program and a communication method.SOLUTION: An IC card 1 transmits a high-speed communication response to a read device 2 on receipt of a high-speed communication request from the read device 2 when low-speed communication state is set, changes the communication state from the low-speed communication state to the high-speed communication state, and stops processing without requesting the read device 2 to transmit an instruction again when the instruction received from the read device 2 cannot be interpreted.
