PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of obtaining the number of residual paper sheets in a paper feed cassette without discharging a paper sheet.SOLUTION: An image processor includes: a first roller for taking out a paper sheet set in a paper feed tray; and a second roller for transporting the paper sheet. The image processor includes: paper sheet detection means for detecting that a transported paper sheet is caught by the second roller; first roller control means for rotating the first roller in the reverse direction to that of transporting the paper sheet when the paper sheet detection means detects the paper sheet; load measuring means for measuring the load of the second roller when the first roller is rotated in the reverse direction by the first roller control means; and residual number determination means for determining the number of residual paper sheets set on the paper feed tray from the driving amount of the first roller when the load of the second roller is a predetermined amount.
