Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of retaining a mooring device safely.SOLUTION: An eye 8 of a mooring device 1 formed in a belt sling shape is fitted from the upper end and hooked directly on a bollard 10 having the eye 8 on a deck 9. A belt-sling shaped portion 1A extending from the eye 8 is wound according to the winding on the outer periphery of a retaining rope 12. By gripping the free end for a while by the operator, the load of the retaining rope 12 is born by the mooring device 1 for a while till the retaining rope 12 is wound by the bollard 10 of the own ship.
