Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing mechanism for a coater, that is capable of reliably washing a rear surface of a rotary atomization head without accompanying complication/enlargement of the coater nor deterioration in coating quality.SOLUTION: A washing mechanism 21 for a coater is used for washing a coater 12 having a bell type rotary atomization head 23 at a tip of a coater body 22. The washing mechanism 21 includes: a nozzle support body 41; a washing nozzle 44; a washing liquid supply tube 45; and nozzle support body drive means 51. The nozzle support body 41 supporting the washing nozzle 44 is constituted of a body separate from the coater 12. The nozzle support body drive means 51 drives the nozzle support body 41 so as to be attached to/detached from an outer peripheral surface 22a of the coater body 22. When mounting the nozzle support body 41, the washing nozzle 44 is positioned obliquely downward in a state that its tip is directed toward a rear surface 24a of the rotary atomization head 23.
