PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve power line communication that has reduced transmission path characteristics.SOLUTION: A power line communication transceiver (101) comprises a transmission unit (103) for transmitting a signal and a reception unit (107) for estimating transmission path characteristics. In addition, the power line communication transceiver further comprises: an interference estimation unit (213) for generating an interference avoidance mask (502) on the basis of interference of the estimated transmission path characteristics; a subcarrier allocation unit (204) for selecting or cancelling a subcarrier of a signal to be transmitted by use of the interference avoidance mask; a transmission path distortion estimation unit (212) for receiving the signal transmitted by the transmission unit and for estimating transmission path distortion of the transmission path characteristics on the basis of the received signal; and a pre-equalization processing unit (205) for pre-equalizing the signal to be transmitted with the use of the estimated transmission path distortion.
