PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor, an illumination device used for the same and an installation method for the illumination device, which allow new installation and maintenance work load of the passenger conveyor to be reduced, facilitate installation of the illumination device for the passenger conveyor, and even when installing the illumination device in later times, do not require large-scale exchange of components in a handrail device, thereby reducing cost and labor.SOLUTION: Handrail guides 5', fixedly arranged on upper edges of handrail panels 3 of the passenger conveyor, comprise: a plurality of guide members 5; and handrail guide connecting members 5a for connecting the guide members with each other. Illuminating lamp holding members 7 for holding illuminating lamps 8 and illuminating lamp covering members 6 for covering the illuminating lamps, which are fixedly supported by the handrail guide connecting members 5a, can be attached to and detached from the handrail panels 3, either together with the handrail guide connecting members or separately from the handrail guide connecting members, through the handrail guide connecting members 5a.
