NON-CONTACT VITAL SIGN CONFIRMATION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-contact vital sign confirmation device which enables a nurse or a caregiver in a hospitalization facility, nursing-care facility, or the like to confirm a "sign of a sleeping object person being alive" when the nurse or caregiver performs a night patrol.SOLUTION: When a non-contact vital sign confirmation device is held in the vicinity of the mouth and nose, i.e. breathing parts, of a sleeping inpatient or hospitalized person, measurement is conducted electrically in a non-contact manner by a pyroelectric body 1 which generates electromotive force by periodic changes of the atmosphere temperature and the object person's exhalation temperature. A nurse or a caregiver is notified of the measurement results indicating the presence or absence the breathing of the object person by means of light, sound, quantitative numerical display, or graphical display, so that the burden of the nurse or caregiver during vital sign checking is reduced, objective checking by a dedicated device is made possible, and the inpatient or hospitalized person is not disturbed in sound sleep.
