Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an organic EL element having no luminous unevenness by forming an organic light emitting layer and a light emitting auxiliary layer in a light emitting pixel part surrounded by a partition wall using a wet film forming method and an organic light emitting medium layer high in flatness with no film thickness difference, uniform and high in accuracy within the light emitting pixel part; and a method for manufacturing the organic EL element.SOLUTION: An organic EL element comprises light emitting pixel parts surrounded by a partition wall between a first electrode formed in a pattern shape on a substrate and a patterned second electrode provided to face the first electrode, and two-dimensionally arranged. Each light emitting pixel part comprises an organic light emitting layer and a light emitting auxiliary layer, and is formed by dissolving or dispersing an organic light emitting material and a light emitting auxiliary material into a solvent and using a wet film formation method. When a film thickness of the partition wall is denoted as A and the film thickness of an organic light emitting medium layer is denoted as B, a relation of 5≤film thickness A/film thickness B≤100 is satisfied.
