PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device and an imaging apparatus which prevent the light loss by employing a method for not branching light and allow omission of a light separation optical system leading to the increase in size of a camera and allow high-speed AF operation.SOLUTION: In an imaging device 10 having a plurality of pixels arrayed on an imaging surface on which a subject image is to be formed, the plurality of pixels consist of first, second, and third pixel groups 14G, 14A, and 14B, and a medium 13 constituting the first pixel group 14G has a thickness and a refractive index set so as to attain an air-equivalent length a, and a medium 13 constituting the second pixel group 14B has a thickness and a refractive index set so as to attain an air-equivalent length a+c, and a medium 13 constituting the third pixel group 14A has a thickness and a refractive index set so as to attain an air-equivalent length a-c.
