The transfer gate scanning circuit 212 selects one intermediate voltage for each row from the plurality of intermediate voltages VMA and VMB generated by a plurality of intermediate voltage circuits constituting the voltage generation section 280, and outputs TX having the selected intermediate voltage to individual rows of a pixel array section 220.
