Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for electrostatic latent image development capable of suppressing the occurrence of fogging in a formed image caused by a reduction in ability of charging a toner of a carrier, in performing printing with high printing rate for a long period, by suppressing scraping-off and peeling-off of a coat layer of the carrier and adhesion of an external additive peeled off from the toner to the surface of the carrier; and to provide a two-component developer including toner and the carrier for electrostatic latent image development.SOLUTION: In a carrier for electrostatic latent image development in which a carrier core is coated with a coat layer, the coat layer comprises a plurality of layers of two or more; an innermost layer and an outermost layer of the plurality of layers are formed of a specific material, respectively; and metal oxide particles are present on at least one boundary surface between the plurality of layers.
