PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device and the like that can reliably execute a variety of notification operations.SOLUTION: A distributed configuration multifunctional peripheral device comprises: an MFP for performing a variety of functional processing by transmitting and receiving data signals; a slave unit for performing voice calls by transmitting and receiving voice signals; and a BOX. The BOX comprises: a wireless LAN antenna part for performing radio communication of data signals with the MFP; a DCL antenna part for performing radio communication of voice signals with the slave unit; and a telephone line connection part. When a response signal from the slave unit in response to a beacon signal transmitted by the DCL antenna part is not detected, the BOX transmits incoming call start notification information giving notice of arrival of a call-out signal to the MFP via the wireless LAN antenna part in response to detection of arrival of the call-out signal from a telephone line. The MFP performs a notification operation indicating arrival of the call-out signal in response to reception of the incoming call start notification information.
