Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum material in which an iodine amount in a fine pore and a hole-filling generation part of an anodic oxidation coating film is large, moreover coloration by iodine is small, and beauty can be made favorable, and to provide a production method of the aluminum material.SOLUTION: There is provided the aluminum material which has an anodic oxidation coating film and in which iodine and/or an iodine compound exists in a fine pore and a hole-filling generation part of the anodic oxidation coating film in an amount of 1-100 mg/cmas iodine. The aluminum material has a brightness Lof 40-90, and has a color difference Eab before and after iodine volatilization treatment of 3 or less when the aluminum material is heated in atmosphere, at 250°C, for 4 hours and then is subjected to the iodine volatilization treatment. The production method of the aluminum material is also provided which includes a step in which an aluminum base material having an anodic oxidation coating film is immersed in an iodine compound aqueous solution having a temperature of 85°C or higher, and iodine and/or an iodine compound is contained in a fine pore and a hole-filling generation part of an anodic oxidation coating film. Trimethyl sulfoxonium iodide and/or trimethyl sulfonium iodide is suitable as an iodine compound.
