Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent erroneous synchronization at each repeater at the time of start in a communication system in which data is transmitted between devices via a plurality of repeaters.SOLUTION: At the time of start before all repeaters 40 get synchronized, all switch parts 63 of a communication path switching unit 60 connect upstream side communication paths 30 and transmission/reception switching units 41 of the repeaters 40, and a switch part 63 connected with an upstream side master unit 10 or a repeater which received a synchronization signal from a repeater 40 and completed synchronization connects a downstream side communication path 30 and the transmission/reception switching unit 41 of the repeater 40. Regarding the synchronization signal, synchronization signals with different patterns are used at adjacent relay sections.
