CONNECTING METHOD FOR ALUMINUM POWER CABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting method particularly suitable for a power cable for transmitting a large amount of power.SOLUTION: A power cable 1 includes strands 3 which are twisted. When the power cable 1 is connected to another cable, a predetermined amount of the strands 3 at the outer peripheral side thereof are untwisted. By taking into account cross-sectional areas of the strands the outer peripheral surfaces of which are to be polished, the strands 3 are untwisted so that a ratio S1/S of a sum S1 of cross-sectional areas of to-be-polished strands to the sum S of the cross-sectional areas of all the strands is 0.39 or more. An untwisted outer-peripheral-side strands 3b are applied with a compound, and polished.
