Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor that prevents deformation of magnetic steel sheets at an end of a rotor core in a direction of a rotation axis even when the rotor core is shrink-fitted on a rotor shaft.SOLUTION: A rotor 10 of a rotary electric machine has a rotor shaft 12 that is inserted in a shaft hole 18 in a rotor core 16 made up of laminated steel sheets and that is fixed to the rotor core 16 by shrink-fitting. A region of the rotor shaft 12 in contact with the rotor core 16 has higher material strength in a central portion thereof in a direction of a rotation axis than at any one end thereof.
