PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crane apparatus capable of sufficiently obtaining a vibration control effect by a simple configuration, and further to provide a modification method for the crane apparatus.SOLUTION: A crane apparatus 1 that can travel on travel rails 7 and performs lifting of a load comprises: travel portions 12 having wheels that travel on the travel rails 7; a girder 6 mounted with lift means 3 for performing the lifting of the load; support portions 2 that are supported by the travel portions 12 and support the girder 6 in a relatively movable manner in an X-axis direction; and spring members 16 each of which has the other end supported by one of the support portions 2 in a relatively non-movable manner in the X-axis direction while having one end supported by the girder 6 in the relatively non-movable manner in the X-axis direction and can be elastically subjected to deflection deformation in response to relative movement of the girder 6 in the X-axis direction with respect to the support portions 2.
