PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device capable of improving operability for a user to grasp a target subject while viewing a display screen when taking a close shot.SOLUTION: The portable terminal device comprising a camera for taking an image comprises: a rectangular display provided on one surface side of the portable terminal device and disposed on a plane perpendicular to the view direction of a camera; and a controller which performs control to display on the display an image taken by the camera. The camera is provided on the opposite side from the surface with the display provided thereon and is disposed along a direction parallel to one side of the display with the center of the rectangular display as a start point. The controller displays the taken image deviated by a predetermined length from the start point along the disposing direction of the camera on the display.
