PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly perform age verification processing of a customer who purchases age-restricted merchandise.SOLUTION: A merchandise sales data processing apparatus photographs a face image of a customer who purchases age-restricted merchandise by a CCD camera, extracts face feature data from the face image of the customer, collates the extracted face feature data with face feature data stored in a face feature database, and when the extracted face feature data matches minor face feature data, stops selling of the age-restricted merchandise.
