REFRIGERATOR AND DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator and an operation display device that can achieve both improvement of display quality and reduction of power consumption.SOLUTION: The refrigerator and the operation display device comprise: a board housing part provided to the front surface of a door of a refrigerator body so as to form a recessed portion toward a foam heat insulation material side from the front surface of the door; and an operation display part 16 placed in the board housing part. The operation display part comprises a decorative sheet 24, a board 19, and a board holding part 18. A notation is provided on the decorative sheet, and light guide plates 22 are arranged on the board opposed to the back side of the notation. LED light emitters 23 opposed to one side of the light guide plates are provided on the board almost flush with the light guide plates, and the LED light emitters irradiate the light guide plates from one side to brighten them. Thus, the whole light guide plates shine brightly and illuminate the whole area of the notation on the decorative sheet. In addition, the depth dimension can be reduced and the heat insulating material of the door can be thickened accordingly so that both improvement of display quality and reduction of power consumption can be achieved.
