SPLIT TYPE CAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a split type cage capable of keeping roundness against the circumferential-direction expansion and contraction of the cage, and suppressing generation of noise.SOLUTION: A cage is constituted by connecting a plurality of segments 2 provided with a plurality of pockets to hold rolling elements disposed between an inner ring and an outer ring, and annularly connecting the segments by connecting portions 3 disposed at both ends of the segments. The connecting portions connect the segments so as to allow the slide only in the circumferential direction of the cage. The pair of connecting portions are composed of a projecting connecting portion 3b and a recessed connecting portion 3a respectively formed on end faces of the segments. A recessed groove-like guide 3d disposed on the projecting connecting portion 3b and a projecting rail 3c disposed on the recessed connecting portion 3a are fitted. The rolling elements 5 composed of balls are buried in a sliding surface of the projecting rail 3c, thus the noise due to the sliding of the connecting portions 3 can be suppressed.
