Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a containment vessel (crucible) for evaporating materials for use in applying thin film coatings to a substrate in a molecular beam epitaxial process or manufacturing of a solar cell.SOLUTION: The containment vessel 100 for evaporating materials for use in applying thin film coatings to a substrate includes a body 110 fabricated from a refractory material. In one embodiment, the body includes end portions 112, 114 capable of being connected to other bodies in an end to end fashion. In another embodiment, the body includes an integrally patterned conductor incorporated into the outer surface portion of the body to facilitate association with an electrical power source for heating.
