INSPECTION DEVICE OF PLUGGED HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE AND INSPECTION METHOD OF PLUGGED HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection device of a plugged honeycomb structure configured to quickly and simultaneously inspect the depth and defect of a plugged part in a noncontact manner.SOLUTION: A cylindrical plugged honeycomb structure 31 has a porous partition wall for forming a plurality of cells penetrating from one end face 35 to the other end face 36, and a plugged part formed at an end part of the cell. An inspection device 100 for inspecting the plugged honeycomb structure 31 comprises a light source 1 which illuminates one end face 35 of the plugged honeycomb structure 31 to be inspected; a camera-side lens 2 which condenses light emitted from the light source 1 to the one end face 35, transmitted through plugged portions of the plugged honeycomb structure 31 and radiated from the other end face 36; a camera 3 which receives the light condensed by the camera-side lens 2; and an image processor 4 which processes an image of the light received by the camera 3 to display the contrast of the light transmitted through the plugged portions of the plugged honeycomb structure 31.
