Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an exhaust throttle valve and a method for controlling an exhaust throttle valve, which are capable of solving discomfort due to operation noise from a motor and learning a reference point of an exhaust throttle valve.SOLUTION: An embodiment according to the invention is a control device of an exhaust throttle valve 38 provided in an exhaust system for an engine 22 and throttling a flow of exhaust. The control device performs a reference point learning in which a minimum opening in an operable range of the exhaust throttle valve 38 is learned in an idle operation range including an idle operation condition of the engine 22 and an operation condition adjacent to the idle operation condition.
