PNEUMATIC TIRE ASSEMBLY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To incorporate an air maintenance function, in a tire, for automatically maintaining an air pressure in the tire.SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire assembly 10 includes: a tire 22; rigid structures 14, 42, 68, 70, 101 and 202 which facilitate the operation of the pneumatic tire assembly 10 and are connected to a tire by a laminar thermoplastic material 22 so as to generate a hardness gradient between the rigid structures and the tire 12; a side wall 30 having at least one bending region to be bent when positioned on the radial inside of a footprint 120 of a rotating tire; a sidewall groove 56 which is positioned in the bending region of the side wall 30, is defined by a plurality of groove walls and deforms between a non-deformed condition and a deformed and constricted condition by each part in response to the bending of the bending region of the side wall 30 when positioned on the radial inside of the footprint 120 of the rotating tire.
