PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection device which can perform drawing even when a part in which a shadow is generated on a projection surface and position detection cannot be normally performed is generated.SOLUTION: A projection device includes: a reception unit for receiving drawing position information which is transmitted from a drawing device and indicates a position where drawing is instructed on a projection surface, and drawing request information which requests that drawing be performed; a first generation unit for generating image data to be projected on the projection surface by using the drawing position information received in a reception period in which the drawing request information is received; a determination value calculation unit for calculating a drawing failure period in which the drawing position information could not be received in the reception period; a pattern storage unit for storing plural types of pattern images; a second generation unit for generating image data of a part in the drawing failure period by using the pattern image similar to the image data generated by the first generation unit; and a projection unit for projecting the generated image data.
