BATTERY HOUSING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery housing device in which the cost of an intermediate electrode disposed between electrodes, arranged in one row, can be reduced and which can be assembled conveniently in a short time.SOLUTION: A housing section 3 housing a plurality of batteries 90 per row is provided with a partition 4 for partitioning respective batteries 90, and an intermediate electrode 6a for connecting the batteries 90 in series is disposed in the partition 4. In such a battery housing device, i.e., a multimeter 1, the intermediate electrode 6a consists of a conductive positive electrode 7 which comes into contact with the positive electrode of a battery 90b, and a conductive negative electrode 8 which comes into contact with the negative electrode of a battery 90a, both electrodes 7, 8 are held on the partition 4 in non-contact state, and the negative electrode 8 has a conductive leaf spring 31 which is pushed by the battery 90a to deform thus bringing the leaf spring 31 into contact with the positive electrode 7.
