ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF SHIELDED ELECTRICAL CABLES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide mass termination of a cable with reduced size of a cable connection part and simplified connection to conductor sets and drain wires.SOLUTION: A shielded electrical cable 2 comprises: a plurality of conductor sets 4 extending along the length of the cable and arranged and spaced along the width of the cable, each conductor set 4 having two conductors 6 arranged in a two-core configuration, each of the conductors having a size no greater than 24 AWG; and first and second shielding films 8 disposed on opposite sides of the cable, neither shielding film comprising a longitudinal fold that orients the shielding film to cover the conductor sets on both sides of the cable, where the insertion loss of each conductor set is either less than about -5 dB per meter, less than about -4 dB per meter, or less than about -3 dB per meter.
