PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection device and a purification device in which a kind of stain can be classified.SOLUTION: A detection device includes: a light irradiation part which irradiates a target place with prescribed excitation light which excites materials derived from living bodies and generates self-fluorescence; a self-fluorescence detection part which detects a generation position of the self-fluorescence generated from the target place where the excitation light is radiated, and the light amount of the self-fluorescence corresponding to the generation position; and a calculation part which obtains information on the materials derived from the living bodies in the target place using a detection result of the self-fluorescence detection part.
