AIR CONDITIONER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner achieving cooling and heating with and excellent power saving property.SOLUTION: An air conditioner is provided with a vertical air direction changing blade 12 which changes the direction of the air blown out of an air outlet 10 vertically. The vertical air direction changing blade 12 is provided with a lower blade 18 and an upper blade 20 rotatably provided in the vicinity of the air outlet 10. The upper blade 20 is movably configured so that it approaches or goes away from the lower blade 18, and also, it is configured in such a manner that a gap between the lower blade 18 and the upper blade 20, and a gap between the upper blade 20 and a stabilizer 32 forming the air outlet 10 opposing to the upper blade 20 are adjusted. At the time of heating, if the gap between the lower blade 18 and the upper blade 20 is changed to be wider, a target temperature of the air conditioning operation is controlled to be lowered by a prescribed temperature width. By blowing more warm air to the footing of a user, even though the target temperature of the heating operation is set to a temperature lower by the prescribed temperature width and heat quantity put into the room is reduced, a desired warmth can be felt sufficiently.
