Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear vehicle body structure that can protect a battery unit upon rear collision.SOLUTION: A rear vehicle body structure 100 includes: a battery unit 104 arranged behind a torsion beam 148; a first and a second cross members 132 and 134 installed between side members 128a and 128b; a frame member 144 for supporting the battery unit; a bridge member 136 that is installed between the first cross member and the second cross member and connected to the second cross member at a rear flange 136a; and reinforcements 170a and 170b, arranged at the side members, that reinforce the side members arranged between a front end 134a and a rear end 134b of the second cross member. The torsion beam is arranged in the vicinity just beneath the second cross member, and the side members are inclined forward and downward from the front end 174a of the reinforcement.
