Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool for friction stir processing, in which the wear of the tool is reduced and the service life of the tool is extended by developing further excellent hardness even at high temperature, and to provide a method of friction stir processing using the tool.SOLUTION: The tool for friction stir processing is made of Ni-based dual multi-phase intermetallic compound alloy to which Re is added. It is preferable that the Ni-based dual multi-phase intermetallic compound alloy is formed by casting in which molten metal including all components of its compositions is cooled slowly, and it is preferable that heat treatment is performed after the casting. In addition, in the method of friction stir processing, workpiece material is softened and processed with friction heat generated by pressing the tool for friction stir processing onto the workpiece material while rotating the tool for friction stir processing.
