ELECTRIC VACUUM CLEANER AND ION GENERATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion generator which is attachable/detachable to/from an electric vacuum cleaner body and independently operable in an electric vacuum cleaner including the ion generator; and to provide an electric vacuum cleaner which includes the ion generator and from which ion can be emitted in a desired direction at a desired timing.SOLUTION: An ion generator 8 includes a body frame part 80 having an air inlet 31 and an air outlet 32, an ion generating element 23, an air-sending fan 24, and a power supply part 21 supplying electric power to the ion-generating element 23 and the air-sending fan 24. An electric vacuum cleaner 1 is structured so that the ion generator 8 can be attached to an electric vacuum cleaner body 2 in various attitudes, and the air outlet 32 is oriented to a direction different from that of the electric vacuum cleaner body 2 owing to such attachment in the various attitudes.
