IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that appropriately controls a charge potential of each photosensitive drum by a more simplified configuration while dealing with different process speeds.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a photoreceptor; charging means charging the photoreceptor; light-irradiating means irradiating the photoreceptor charged by the charging means with light emitting from a light source to form a latent image; and developing means adhering a toner to the latent image to form a toner image. The image forming apparatus also includes: control means that controls the light-irradiating means to irradiate an image part of the photoreceptor where the toner is to be adhered, with light from the light source emitting light with a first luminous energy and to irradiate a non-image part of the photoreceptor where the toner is not to be adhered with light from the light source emitting light with a second luminous energy lower than the first luminous energy; adjusting means adjusting the first luminous energy and the second luminous energy; and acquiring means acquiring information relating to a surface speed of the photoreceptor. The adjusting means changes the second luminous energy according to the information acquired by the acquiring means.
