PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device including a cover member for covering a driving device at a low cost.SOLUTION: An elevator device includes: a car body 21 provided in a hoistway 10 surrounded by a wall portion 12 which is partially transparent; a balance weight body 31 which is provided to be vertically movable in the hoistway 10 so as to partially cancel load of the car body 21; a pair of rails 22a and 22b for a car which are extended in the vertical direction of the hoistway 10 to guide elevating/lowering of the car body 21; a pair of rails 32a and 32b for the balance weight guiding elevating/lowering of the balance weight; a driving device 4 which is provided in the hoistway 10 to drive the car body 21 in the vertical direction; and a cover member 40 which is supported to be openable/closable by the prescribed rail for the car of the pair of rails 22a and 22b for the car and the prescribed rail for the balance weight of the pair of rails 32a and 32b for the balance weight so as to cover the driving device 4.
