INKJET RECORDING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress, even in a recording head including a plurality of nozzle arrays for discharging inks in the same color, nonuniformity based on a density difference between the nozzle arrays.SOLUTION: A recording head includes two or more ink nozzle arrays for discharging inks in the same color. Each of the ink nozzle arrays records a small area having a highest density and small areas having a plurality of intermediate densities, the densities of the small areas are recorded, and a correction lookup table for correcting recording data from the read densities of the small areas is generated. If the highest density of the small area recorded by any of the two or more ink nozzle arrays for discharging inks in the same color does not reach a target highest density, an output density of the ink nozzle array having the lowest one of the highest densities of the small areas recorded by the two or more ink nozzle arrays is considered as a highest density to be recorded in the two or more ink nozzle arrays, to generate the correction lookup table.
