Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multimeter provided with a wrong insertion preventing mechanism that is structurally simple and space-saving.SOLUTION: A multimeter 1 comprises: a rotary switch 3 for selecting a measurement function; a common terminal hole 20 into which a connector of a test probe is inserted; selection terminal holes 21, 22, and 23 into which a connector of a test probe is selectively inserted; and shutter plates 4 and 5 for selectively opening the selection terminal holes 21-23. The rotary switch 3 has protrusions 32 and 33 moving along with its rotation. The shutter plate 4 has a hole 41 corresponding to the common terminal hole 20 and is rotatable around the center of the common terminal hole 20, and has a recess 42 capable of engaging with the protrusion 32 and is rotatable so that either one of the selection terminal hole 21 and the selection terminal hole 22 is opened by movement of the protrusion 32. The shutter plate 5 has a recess 52 capable of engaging with the protrusion 33 and is rotatable so as to open and close the selection terminal hole 23 by movement of the protrusion 33.
