Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of activating an exhaust gas sensor in an early period while preventing cracking of the exhaust gas sensor caused by suffering condensate water in controlling opening of a waste gate valve for early warming-up of a catalyst, in a case when a temperature of cooling water is a predetermined temperature or less after starting the internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine includes a WGV 38 for opening and closing an exhaust bypass path 36 bypassing a turbine 22b. An A/F sensor 44 including a heater for heating a sensor element, is disposed at a downstream side of the turbine 22b. WGV active control for opening and closing the WGV 38 is executed when stress S of the A/F sensor 44 caused by suffering the condensate water reaches an allowable stress S0 or more during the opening of the WGV 38 for warming-up the catalyst in cold start. |
