MESSAGE FORWARDING BACKUP MANAGER IN DISTRIBUTED SERVER SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the number of worker computers in a distributed server system, without adversely impacting the communication capacity of a central server.SOLUTION: A distributed server system includes not only a primary manager computer 210 but one or more backup managers 220, 230. The backup managers receive from the primary manager a command to maintain the state of a distributed server system 200, forward work tasks to workers 240 to 260, further aggregate responses received from the workers, and send them to the primary manager. Further, when the primary manager stop functioning, the backup managers are reconfigured to serve functions of the primary manager.
