PIPE MAKING DEVICE AND METHOD OF SPIRAL TUBE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe making device of a spiral tube which prevents a metal plate from being exposed due to separation of coating on a reinforcing member, in making the spiral tube by using a band-like body having the reinforcing member coated with resin coating.SOLUTION: A pipe making device 1 of a spiral tube continuously supplies and winds spirally a band-like body 100 including a reinforcing member having a metal plate continuing in a longitudinal direction and resin coating for coating the metal plate, and includes joints formed at both side edges, and makes the spiral tube by joining the joints adjacent to each other. The pipe making device includes a pipe making machine 2 which joins the joints of the band-like body 100 without contact with the reinforcing member, and a curl forming device 3 which forms a curl by plastically deforming the band-like body and continuously supplies it to the pipe making machine. The curl forming device 3 includes a curl guide for defining a predetermined path, and a propelling means which moves the band-like body 100 forward. The curl guide and the propelling means are not brought into contact with the reinforcing member of the band-like body 100 while the curl is formed.
