Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation converting mechanism capable of easily and accurately machining such that a rolling means locking to a helical groove and rolling can smoothly circulate locking to a helical groove and a chuck device enhancing force fastening a base shaft of a rotary jig by chuck pawls and attaining a stable fastening state.SOLUTION: A chuck device is constituted of a helical locking groove 81 formed in an inner peripheral face of an outer nut ring 80, a helical locking groove 71 formed in an outer peripheral surface of an inner nut 70 and formed in a helical shape in the same direction as the helical locking groove 81, and a plurality of locking ball 79 engaging with both the helical locking grooves 71, 81 and rolling, a coupling locking groove 71a coupling end parts themselves of the helical locking groove 71 constituted in a helical shaped less than one turn in a rotational direction is constituted in such a depth that engaging of engaging locking balls 79 to the helical locking groove 81 is released, and is formed in an attaching groove member 72b capable of being attached to a ring body 72 in which the helical locking groove 71 constituted in the helical shape less than one turn is formed.
