Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive for treating incineration ash which can efficiently fix heavy metals even under conditions with small amount of humidification and further can suppress heat generation when incineration ash is treated in a step for treating heavy metals in the incineration ash and further to provide a method for treating incineration ash by using the additive.SOLUTION: An additive for treating incineration ash comprises a nonion surfactant mixture (A) and glycerin (B) so that a weight ratio (A)/(B) may be 70/30 to 30/70. The nonion surfactant mixture (A) comprises a nonion surfactant (a1) expressed by general formula (1) where Rand m are according to the description in the specification and a nonion surfactant (a2) expressed by general formula (2) where R, n and p are according to the description in the specification so that a weight ratio (a1)/(a2) may be 80/20 to 40/60. The nonion surfactant (a2) is a mixture composed of a compound (a2-1) wherein Ris a linear alkyl group and a compound (a2-2) wherein Ris a branched alkyl group and a ratio of the branched alkyl group to total amount of the linear alkyl group and the branched alkyl group is 30 to 80%.
