PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine, in which a power-on switch is shared with a power-off switch, capable of determining whether it is power supply off by pushing down a main power supply switch or power supply off due to abnormality such as a coming-off of a plug, a power failure or the like, while driving a motor.SOLUTION: A washing machine includes: an outer frame; a water tub supported by the outer frame for storing water; a washing/dewatering tub rotatably supported in the water tub; a motor for rotationally driving the washing/dewatering tub; an inverter control circuit which operates and controls the motor; a DC power supply circuit which supplies DC power supply of the inverter control circuit; a voltage detection circuit which detects voltage of the DC power supply circuit; a frequency detection circuit which detects commercial power supply frequency; and a main power supply switch which is configured by one C contact point switch for main power supply on and main power supply off. In this washing machine, while driving the motor, whether it is a power supply off by pushing down the main power supply switch or not is determined by the detection results of the frequency detection circuit and the voltage detection circuit.
