PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device that improves convenience to a user when a plurality of broadcast programs having overlapped broadcast time periods are recorded.SOLUTION: A portable terminal device (10) configured to be able to communicate with a video recording device (20) includes: a receiving section for receiving a broadcast program; a video recording section for recording a program requested in advance to be recorded by the video recording device; a communication section for transferring recording data of the program on air recorded in the video recording section to the video recording device; a monitoring section for monitoring a communication state between the portable terminal device and the video recording device on the basis of information indicating the communication state between the portable terminal device and the video recording device while the program on air is recorded by the video recording section; and a warning section for warning a user of the portable terminal device if the monitoring section has determined that the communication state between the portable terminal device and the video recording device is below a predetermined reference level.
