IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD AND IMAGE PROCESSING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a processing speed by greatly reducing a calculation amount while keeping accuracy, in an image collation technology using a correlation value which is calculated based on an eigenvalue decomposition template image.SOLUTION: An image processing method includes the steps of: generating a first image group by adding a geometric conversion to a template image; calculating an eigenvalue and an eigenfunction by performing eigenvalue decomposition of the first image group; generating a second image group by an inner product operation of the eigenfunction and the first image group; generating a correlation value vector about each image of the first image group; excluding a part of the pixels from a processing object on the basis of the correlation value about each pixel of an input image; generating a feature vector about the input image; selecting the correlation value vector which is the most similar to the feature vector; calculating image similarity in the neighboring range of a geometric conversion parameter corresponding to the selected correlation value vector; and determining the value of the geometric conversion parameter by the image similarity.
