Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulation protector that can shorten a time to strip off a coating of an electric wire at a free end and a time to polish a conductor part of the electric wire after the coating is stripped off, and improve efficiency and safety of an indirect hot-line operation.SOLUTION: An insulation protector 1 fitted to a free end of an electric wire 11 includes a main body 2 having a cutting blade 5 for making a cut in a coating of the electric wire 11, an exterior body 3 formed to accommodate the main body 2 and opened at one end, and a cover body 4 fixed detachably to the one end of the main body and an opening end 31 of the exterior body 3. The main body 2 has an insertion hole 22 into which the electric wire 11 can be inserted from one end to the other end, the cutting blade 5 is provided with a brush 6 on the opposite side from the cover body 4, and the cutting blade 5 and brush 5 are provided projecting to the insertion hole 22 such that a plurality of cutting blades 5 and brushes 6 are provided in a peripheral direction of the insertion hole 22. A communication hole 33 which communicates with the insertion hole 22 of the main body 2 and into which the electric wire 11 is inserted is provided in an end of the exterior body 3 on the opposite side from the opening end 31.
